      Different than other apps, we believe in using mini-recipe timers, with a step-by-step process for the individual ingredient. In Release 3.2 you can now set your own timers. We are looking into more ways to allow users to enter variables (eg. ingredient title, steps) themselves.

    • User-entered variables

      The basic variables, such as thickness, should be user-entered. As it is, the time/temp calculation is wrong if the thickness of the meat you want to cook differs from the offered value.

        Instead of using the Baldwin formulas, where ingredient, thickness and bath temperature calculate the time to reach a core temperature, we wanted to offer adjusted recommendations. Food is never an exact geometrical shape and waiting for an extra hour for a piece to reach an additional half a degree is impractical. We hope that our adjustments for speed and efficiency improve the Sous Vide experience. In Release 3.2 you can now set your own timers. We are looking into more ways to allow users to enter variables.

          What else would we want, than to have users who really want this app in their life! This should be incentive enough for the developers to act. The iOS version takes a lot of our resources, but we know it has to be done. Planned, but not promised.

          The anova precision cooker is now available with wifi controls. Could you please enable this app to use the wifi controls too ?

            We asked on the Anova developer board for an accessible API to support Wi-Fi with 3rd party apps. This question was supported by other developers. In August 2015 we received the last response: “We’ll be updating the community when we have further API and access info.”

            I am using iPhone and iPad. I would like that my notes are kept in sync between the two devices.

            • Timers history

              I would love to be able to archive my "Timers" history so I can see all my previous cooking with time, temp and notes.

              • Add a timer for ice bath

                Some meals like chicken and vegetables only take a 2-3 hours to be fully cooked. I think it would be great to add the option to set the 'end time' of the meal based on current temp. This would allow the anova to start based on current temp and the known time it takes to heat up water to the cooking temp.

                This would allow for users to put ice in the water in the morning and have it start heating when it calculates the end time.

                I think this would require volume of the water to be known.

                    Would like to see the list ordered by firmness and title should reflect this. When one chooses a firmness, then you could list the recipes that makes use of choosen firmness.
                    So, 'pasteurized egg' should come first and 'soft boiled' shouldn't come last.

                      There is no documentation anywhere on how to connect app to Anova sous vide... manual that came with sous vide machine doesn't cover it, your app doesn't cover it, yet you claim on Anova support site that the two talk...

                        Thank you for your feedback. It is our goal to improve the user experience by making the app more intuitive. When using an iPhone 4S/iPad 3 or newer with an Anova Precision Cooker turned on and in reach, the app will connect automatically. In Release 3.2 we made Device Control more obvious and possible to use with multiple devices.

                                  Bei Ochsenbäckchen (72 h) wäre es nett wenn man die Zeit eingeben könnte wann die Gäste kommen , und dann das Programm einen Bescheid gibt wenn das Fleisch rein muss . Da spart man sich die Rechnerei.
                                  Für kürzere Zeiten geht das ja einfach .
                                  Braucht man es nicht .

                                        In Ihrem Tutorial für Rindfleisch steht:
                                        "Die Angaben funktionieren für Filetstücke, Zwischenrippe, Entrecôte, Hohe Rippe, Hohrücken oder Rumpsteak. Der Durchmesser spielt eine grössere Rolle als das Fleischstück selber. Ein Steak mit einer Dicke um 20 mm, egal von welchem Stück, braucht etwas weniger als eine Stunde bis es durchgehend die gleiche Kerntemperatur erreicht hat."

                                        Wähle ich nun in der App Hohe Rippe, 10-20mm, 58 Grad, bekomme ich eine Garzeit von 5:20 Std. vorgeschlagen. Wie kann das sein?

                                          Besten Dank für die aufmerksame Anfrage.
                                          Die Angaben im Tutorial entsprechen der Zeit zum Erreichen der Kerntemperatur.
                                          Die Empfehlung in der App entspricht unseren Erfahrungswerten. Dieses Stück Fleisch erreicht die Kerntemperatur viel früher, profitiert aber von der zusätzlichen Zeit im Wasserbad und wird dabei noch zarter. Im Zweifelsfalle einfach ausprobieren! :-)
